This is a chronic injury that may have been bothering him for a while. It’s related to the plantar fasciitis that Albert Pujols suffered a few years back—in this case, a small bone spur from the heel could be the cause of the pain. About 90 percent of the cases of heel spurs resolve without surgery, but...
