DR HQ: 2013 injury risks: Closers

Motte suffered a strained right forearm that was described as mild by the Cardinals. In more detail, it’s the tendon from the flexor muscle (the main muscle in the forearm) that is slightly torn, up near his elbow. The medical staff has prescribed range of motion and stretching of the right forearm to determine how it is healing. With spring training almost over, it looks likely he’ll need to start the season on the disabled list. If it isn’t that serious and it heals fairly quickly, we could see him back before the third or fourth week of April. In my opinion, if Motte isn’t on your roster I would pass on him on draft day.
