Injury: Elbow pain. As stated in one of my preseason write-ups, pitchers chose not to undergo surgery and are at high risk for developing the same injury.
DL date: April 16
Estimated DL time: Looks like Tommy John surgery is in his future. If so, Billingsley could be out for the year.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: Out for 2013.
Ryan Hanigan (C, CIN)
Injury: Strained left oblique
DL date: April 20
Estimated DL time: Out 21-28 days.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: None likely.
Brett Myers (RHP, CLE)
Injury: Tendinitis, right flexor tendon. It looks like CLE caught this early enough that it’s not a major injury.
DL date: April 20
Estimated DL time: If the tendinitis responds to treatment...
