DR HQ: Astros lose Springer; Rendon, Lincecum to the DL

Injury: Fractured right wrist
DL date: July 2
Estimated DL time: We don’t yet know what bone(s) are fractured so it’s difficult to make an accurate projection on how much time he’ll miss. We do know it’s a non-displaced fracture and one that won’t need surgery to repair the damage. Springer will be rechecked in two weeks and six weeks. If the fracture site is healing as expected, he should be able to resume light workouts. The best-case scenario has Springer returning just before the end of August. Worst case he will miss the rest of the season, with a possibility of playing in the postseason.
