Injury: Torn meniscus, left knee
DL date: May 6
Estimated DL time: He is projected to miss three to four weeks after having surgery to repair the damage.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: His power numbers were off when he suffered the knee injury, so it may take a bit of time to find his power stroke once he is activated.
Pedro Strop (RHP, CHC)
Injury: Grade 2 strain – right groin. Groin injuries in particular can be tough on pitchers. If an injury forces a pitcher to alter his stride, shoulder or elbow problems can result.
DL date: May 7
Estimated DL time: Roughly four weeks, or a return during the first week of June.
Estimated 2014 effect upon return: If Strop can avoid a setback and his mechanics don’t...
