DR HQ: Cabrera update; Cubs injury troubles

Major League teams rarely place players on the disabled list once September rolls around. This makes managing your roster more difficult than the rest of the season. To help manage injuries it has become a tradition in this column in September to project how long a player will miss with his current injury issue. We call it xDL and now on to some key injury situations.

Miguel Cabrera (3B, DET)
Injury: Last year in this spot we focused on Cabrera’s hernia injury. This year it’s a sore right ankle. He suffered the injury during the latter part of August and it continues to plague him.
Estimated xDL time: Luckily for Cabrera owners, the injury isn’t serious enough to land him on the bench and extended period of time. The Tigers will sit...
