The Texas Rangers made Neftali Feliz (RHP, TEX) their first DL move of the season due to sprained ulnar collateral ligament in the pitcher's right elbow. His fastball had lost some zip, and it has been straighter than anytime in his major league career. His command has been off with a few exceptions, also, and now we have a good reason for his recent struggles.

Feliz will be shut down for four weeks when he be evaluated to see if the inflammation has cleared up. If it has, he will resume throwing—though he will need time to build up his arm strength into game-level readiness. This puts his timetable as All-Star break; any kind of setback could push his return into August.
