DR HQ: Injury roundup, Cactus League

Chad Billingsley (RHP, LA)
Sometime last August, Billingsley suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his pitching elbow. He started treatment started with two platelet-rich plasma injections with the hope he could avoid reconstruction surgery on his pitching elbow. The Dodgers medical staff saw enough progress with his recovery over the winter to forego surgery on the elbow.

So far in camp Billingsley has not had a hint of a setback, though he is not out of the woods by any means. It is unknown (at least to the public) how much of the UCL remains torn. It's not out of the question that the treatments of last year and his rehab program this past offseason were enough to allow the ligament to heal. More likely, some of it...
