DR HQ: Kershaw, Parnell, Reyes updates and more

Bobby Parnell (RHP, NYM)
Injury: Incomplete tear of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his pitching elbow. This part of the elbow ligament makes up the UCL in Tommy John surgery.
DL date: Retro to April 1.
Estimated DL time: He has received PRP (platelet therapy) to help with the healing process. Still, Parnell has long odds that a rehab program will allow the ligament to heal enough to hold up to the demands of pitching. He’ll need Tommy John surgery, the only question is when. I predict it will be sooner and he’s likely done for the season.

José Reyes (SS, TOR)
Injury: Inflammation in his right hamstring. He needed surgery last fall to repair damage to the same area.
DL date: April 1.
