DR HQ: More significant injuries

Clayton Kershaw (LHP, LA)
Injury: Inflammation of the Teres Major muscle – left shoulder. This is not one of the four rotator cuff muscles and it is located in the back of the pitching shoulder. It connects near the bottom of the scapula (shoulder blade) and the humerus (upper arm bone). The MRI did not reveal any other damage.
Spring Training Outlook: He won’t pitch again this spring.
2014 Impact: Currently, the Dodgers indicate he won’t pitch on Sunday.  While this injury is not devastating news it could be serious. It’s a very important muscle that is involved in the acceleration of the arm and a pitcher’s velocity. Hopefully the Dodgers medical staff caught it quickly enough and after a short rehab period he’ll be back on the...
