On Opening Day, we were greeted with the news that the 2015 season would start with a record 115 players on the disabled list. This number will increase with retroactive DL moves are made in the coming days. That just means we have our work cut out for us this season starting from the beginning. On to the injuries…

Joe Nathan (RHP, DET)
Injury:  Strained flexor muscle – right arm. Grade 1
DL date: March 27
Estimated DL time: The Tigers believe he’ll only need the minimum time on the disabled list. We’ll see what impact this will have on his declining effectiveness.

James Loney (1B, TB)
Injury:  Strained right side (likely a strained oblique muscle)
DL date: April 7
Estimated DL time: This doesn’t appear to be a serious injury, though...
