Dr. HQ: This week's roundup of the walking wounded

Roy Halladay (RHP, PHI)
Injury: Diagnostic tests revealed that Halladay has a bone spur in his pitching shoulder. The inflammation in his shoulder is likely due to the spur. He is slated to have surgery on May 15. After the surgery we’ll have a better idea of how much time he’ll miss.
DL date: May 6
Estimated DL time: He’s likely out until just after the All-Star break. If his surgery reveals more damage he could be lost for the year.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: Unknown.

Andrew Bailey (RHP, BOS)
Injury: Inflammation in right biceps near elbow.
DL date: April 29
Estimated DL time: Bailey likely will need 17-21 days on the DL before he’s ready for activation.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: None expected.
