GM's OFFICE: Christian Yelich and regression, revisited

Christian Yelich has been absolutely bonkers this year. How bonkers? It's not even July yet, and he's already slayed our Opening Day projection:

Yelich AB R HR RBI SB BA OPS 5x5
======      ===  ===   ==   ===   ==   ===   ===   ===
BF19 proj   593  107   27   100   21   306   903   $38(*)
OD proj     576  104   26    97   20   305   900   $34
YTD         274   63   29    63   17   332  1149   $49

(*)- projected $ values in the book use a different pricing formula than here on the web site.

Clearly, my recommendation to sell high on Yelich back in mid-April did not hold up well.

We generally shy away from evaluating our projections or process in-season. But we can safely make an exception here: short of going...
