GM's OFFICE: "Dueling" with the emotions of DFS

The first book on my summer reading list wasn't exactly a breezy summer beach read. Frankly, I was surprised by the range of reactions I had to Daniel Barbarisi's Dueling with Kings (Touchstone, 2017).

Barbarisi's work is a multi-faceted treatise on the daily fantasy landscape. It's partially a history lesson on the emergence of daily fantasy sports, partially an outsider's curious gaze at this strange world, and partially an insider's revealing exposé of the methods and personalities of the so-called sharks who populate the DFS waters. Laced throughout is Barbarisi's own take on the forces that simultaneously launched and sabotaged the industry on the roller-coaster ride of the past few years.

It is, of course, a credit to the author...
