GM's OFFICE: Welcoming our new gambling overlords

Earlier this week, the United States Supreme Court issued a ruling that is widely expected to open the floodgates to legalized sports gambling throughout the country.

Before we start processing the meaning of this decision, let me stipulate up front: I am not a lawyer. But since this Supreme Court case is titled "Murphy vs. NCAA", I'm anointing myself as (pseudo-) qualified to offer some preliminary thoughts on what happened this week, and what we should be watching for in the future.

Also, just to exercise your sense of irony, I'd suggest re-reading Ron Shandler's classic piece, "Not Gambling? Seriously." before proceeding. The then-and-now is really quite something.
