SPECULATOR: Checking in on the 2018 Rookie class

As we approach the All Star Break, it’s always a good time to step back and review the performances of this year’s rookies. And our 2018 crop features three breakout studs, as well as others who are a bit slower (or, instead, normal) out of the gate.

As with other years, we’ll use the 2018 HQ100 list as the starting point for this exercise, and keep our observations limited to those who have had regular role so far. Our method is to give a quick skills synopsis of what we’ve seen so far, but then to speculate a bit on how the first several months of season portends to each player’s long-term fantasy ceiling. We present these in HQ100 order:

Ronald Acuña (OF, ATL)
What we’ve seen: Got a late start due to service-time games, but outside...

Almost!
