SPECULATOR: Ramping up

One of the many meaningful takeaways from last week's 60-Game Staff Roundtable was the range of opinions on how to handle starting pitchers in this 60-game sprint.

Several of us talked about "punting" starters (or at least not drafting them early). The thinking was that Wins will be hard to come by early in the year as pitchers get ramped up, and the IP boost that top starters have in a 162-gamer isn't as bountiful. Certainly a viable plan, as Ray Murphy backed up with our 100-game projection data, but you best not miss with the mid-tier targets.

The counter-argument? Stock up on an early ace or two, as the best starters are more likely to pitch deeper into games early, racking up those all-important Wins and Ks while preserving...

Almost!
