SPECULATOR: September experiments, 2018

September can be great. Postseason races make for high drama while you're (hopefully) scoreboard watching in your own leagues as you compete for a title.

September can also be oh so maddening.

We're nearing the time of year when many playing time projections become a crapshoot—rosters will expand, starters will be shut down or rested for October, and call-ups will get extended looks as they audition for 2019 roles. The good news? There's plenty of value to glean if we plan for the chaos.

So this week, we'll break down some changing roles on eight non-contenders as they play out the string. In some cases, the experiments are already underway.
