SPECULATOR: September experiments to watch: AL edition

Extending our exercise from last week over to the American League, here are eight situations that bear watching in September, both for their stretch-run implications and as an early read on 2014 profit opportunities.
 

Can Emilio Bonifácio get a fresh start in Kansas City?

Moving from Miami to Toronto this past offseason turned out to be a disaster for Emilio Bonifácio. He found himself out of favor early in the year due to defensive issues, and never really got untracked. Now he finds himself in Kansas City, playing a multi-position role for a Royals team that is on the fringes of contention. In his brief time in KC, Bonifacio has already provided a spark (.306 BA, 8 SB/0 CS in just 49 AB).
