SPECULATOR: Skills searching for roles, 2020

We're all itching to dissect this season's early returns—heck, we've been guilty of making snap judgments ourselves—but it can be just as worthwhile to look at those who haven't been given an everyday shot, yet have the skills to make an impact.

Playing time is key in our short-season sprint, so some of these names might be better served as keeper/dynasty targets, but hitting on a few players at reduced cost before they snag an everyday gig can also pay off over the season's final six weeks.

Filtering out injuries, here are the hitters with <40 plate appearances (roughly 50% playing time at this point) ranked by BaseballHQ.com's projected BPV through August 9.

Players with commentaries are in bold, but feel free to ask about others in the comments.
