SPECULATOR: Snap judgments

Around the rest of Baseball HQ, you won't see us doing any 2014 performance analysis until about a month into the season. Until that point, the sample sizes are too small and the data littered with too much noise for any meaningful performance analysis. Heck, even after the one-month mark, sample-size issues remain a concern.

That's for the rest of the site, though. Here in The Speculator, we aren't constrained by issues like the legitimacy of underlying sample sizes. After suffering through an interminable winter without any new stats to analyze, and a March full of spring training statistics that are basically the equivalent of salt water to a thirsty sailor, we finally have nearly two weeks of actual stats at our disposal.
