Kyle Waldrop (RHP, MIN)
In order to provide depth to the bullpen, the Twins summoned the 26-year-old from Triple-A. Waldrop appeared with Minnesota as a September call-up in ’11 and pitched 11 innings. He began the ’12 season late due to an elbow strain, but he’s fully healthy now. The 6’5” righty was a first round pick in ’04 and was used as a starter until undergoing shoulder surgery that caused him to miss the entire ’08 season. He likely would’ve been converted to a reliever anyhow because of the lack of development with his secondary pitches. Waldrop’s fastball only sits between 86-91 mph, but it has very heavy sink.
