The Tigers optioned Matthew Boyd to Triple-A and replaced him with the 26-year-old reliever. Stumpf has experienced an interesting last few years. Originally a member of the Royals organization, he was selected by Philadelphia in the Rule 5 draft in December 2015. He pitched in three games in the big leagues for the Phillies before being suspended for 80 games or testing positive for a PED. After pitching briefly upon his return, the Phillies sent him back to Kansas City. Stumpf pitched well enough in Double-A to warrant another...
