Whether you’re in the business of appraising a property, jewelry, or in our case, baseball talent, the middle ground makes up the crux of any sort of opinion-based evaluation. The outliers are the easier assessments, whereas the middle ones are where we spend the most time researching and dissecting our reports. On the 20-80 scouting scale, Role 20 prospects are abundant. These prospects are organizational depth. Roughly 80% of lower minor teams are made up of Role 20 or Role 30 prospects (Up/Down, Quad-A potential outcome).
