It's funny how things work sometimes, as I had Wellington Aracena already queued up to write about before he was traded on Friday to the Orioles as part of the Gregory Soto (LHP, NYM) deal with the Mets. Aracena and Keyner Benitez have been among the best pitchers in A ball so far in 2025, so I wanted to get video looks at both. Evaluating A ball pitchers can be a massive challenge. We have no idea what organizations will do to change the pitch arsenals/profiles of guys by the time they hit the majors. I now often try to play along and think about what I would add to a repertoire/what I would tweak to try to get a pitcher, especially at this level, to their potential.
