F/F SPOTLIGHT: Aaron Nola

A quick exercise: you’re building a team in a newly-formed NL-only dynasty league. Who are the first SPs off the board in that format?

Clayton Kershaw comes to mind first, of course. He’s only 30, but his injury track record and hints of performance slippage have to give you pause, if you’re thinking in terms of the next 3-5 years.

Max Scherzer is nearly as stellar as Kershaw, and more reliable. But he’s pitching 2018 at age 32… so the same concerns about the next 3-5 year window have to apply. (Same for 33-year-old Zack Greinke.)

Noah Syndergaard, Stephen Strasburg, Jake deGrom, Carlos Martínez, Robbie Ray… there are some questions mixed throughout this group, but they are all under 30 and have at least a chance to take the mantle...

Almost!
