F/F SPOTLIGHT: Dylan Cease

Note: Cease was placed on the restricted list prior to the White Sox series in Toronto. We expect that he will be reinstated when the team returns to the U.S.

If you’ve read enough about prospects, you’ve probably encountered the warning that a player’s growth isn’t always linear. Parsing that out, if it isn’t always linear, that means that sometimes it is. Case in point: Dylan Cease (RHP, CHW).

Look at the table below. ERA, xERA, and WHIP are all on a steady three-year growth path. If we dig into the skills a bit more, we can see a little blip in 2020, but hey, it was 2020.
