F/F SPOTLIGHT: Evan Longoria

Setting The Stage

Earlier this month, Scott Pianowski tweeted out a somewhat controversial statement calling Evan Longoria, "one of the five most overrated players in fantasy baseball." A few other fantasy pundits debated the topic, but it is a valid observation by the Piano Man. Longoria has never earned $30 or more in 5x5 American League-only formats in his career, but it has cost at least $28 to roster him in each Tout Wars auction since 2009:

  • 2009 - $29 to Joe Sheehan; earned $24
  • 2010 - $33 to Joe Sheehan; earned $29
  • 2011 - $33 to Rick Wolf & Glenn Colton; earned $17
  • 2012 - $31 to Rick Wolf & Glenn Colton; earned $11
  • 2013 - $28 to Andy Behrens; earned $22
  • 2014 - $28 to Chris Liss; earning $18

Longoria is on pace to be a net loss...
