F/F SPOTLIGHT: Jay Bruce

Just when we had him all figured out.

Jay Bruce (OF, NYM), our #1 overall fantasy prospect in the 2008 Minor League Baseball Analyst, delivered on the hype early in his career but suffered through a rough stretch in 2014-15. Fast forward to 2017 and Bruce, 30, has put together a .269 batting average—his highest since 2011—while on a career-high HR pace.

Before we dive in, let's break down Bruce's career into three distinct "eras" to get a feel for how he got here: 

2010-13: Bruce's first full seasons. We had a pretty decent idea of who he was as a hitter: a stable .260-ish BA guy who would flirt with 30 HR, 100 RBI on an annual basis. Bruce was one of the dependable hitters in the game during this time.

2014-15: Bruce's two worst years....
