F/F SPOTLIGHT: Joe Ryan

Joe Ryan (RHP, MIN) did not have a sexy prospect pedigree, could not have been assigned a more boring name, was traded by the savviest organization in the game, and plays in a small media market. That's a recipe for an overlooked pitcher who has something to prove.

Still, Ryan entered the 2023 season as a target with some latent breakout potential:

Joe Ryan (RHP, MIN) tinkered with his pitch mix in the winter with the hope of giving him another strikeout offering outside of his high-movement fastball. If that tweak allows him to increase his 28% GB%, he could emerge as an upper-rotation arm in 2023 given his already-sturdy 11.4% SwK%, 64% FpK%, and 33% Ball% building blocks. - March 4, 2023

So far, so good. Ryan has returned the fourth...
