F/F SPOTLIGHT: Jurickson Profar

Sure, every career has its peaks and valleys, but Jurickson Profar (SS/3B/1B/2B, TEX) has already been from Everest to Death Valley. And he’s only 25.

A quick tour through the News tab of Profar’s PlayerLink page yields some high—but mostly low—points:

2012: Profar’s initial call-up report says he’s “blessed with plentiful skills offensively, highlighted by his plus bat speed and approach more often seen in a big league veteran”. He was tagged with a rare ‘9B’ prospect rating and became our top overall prospect in the 2013 HQ100. Everest!

2013: Profar doesn’t make the 25-man roster out of camp, but returns with an even better ‘9A’ rating in May with “the overall game and intelligence to become a superstar”.

2014: The shoulder injury...
