F/F SPOTLIGHT: Kyle Gibson

Kyle Gibson (RHP, TEX) was the Twins' first-round pick out of the University of Missouri in 2009, so there were high expectations for him as a pro. He made his major-league debut in 2013, and since then he has been... just a guy. Until 2020, he pitched exclusively for the Twins, averaging 173 IP per season for the past six years. While the ability to eat innings has some value in real baseball, he's only had positive fantasy value in three of those six seasons, and has never topped $10.

If that were the whole story, we wouldn't even be writing about him. What makes him interesting is some upticks in velocity and SwK that suggest a possibility of upside for 2020 and beyond. Certainly, he was a valuable starter in 2018, and was valuable...
