F/F SPOTLIGHT: Kyle Schwarber

Kyle Schwarber (OF, CHC) has dealt with lofty expectations since being selected fourth overall out of Indiana University in the 2014 MLB amateur draft. He was ranked as a 9D prospect in our 2015 Cubs Organization Report and tagged with the upside of “a .280-.300 hitter with 25-30 HR”. The burly slugger breezed through the minor leagues, making his MLB debut on June 12, 2015, almost exactly one year from the date he was drafted. He made an immediate impact, batting .246 with 16 HR in 232 AB before launching an additional 5 HR in the postseason.
