F/F SPOTLIGHT: Yu Darvish

Since arriving in the major leagues in 2012, Yu Darvish (RHP, TEX) has been consistently excellent, both as a “real” pitcher and as a dependable fantasy asset on the mound. And this year, he has earned $20+, on the strength of a top-20 strikeouts total, above-average wins and a solidly useful ERA around 3.00 and a WHIP under 1.10.

Based on his record, and past track record, many fantasy analysts and owners view Darvish as a foundational fantasy pitcher. He went 59th in LABR-Mixed, and fetched $23 in the 2017 Tout Wars-Mixed auction ($28 in the AL-only, second-highest behind Corey Kluber).

But a closer look, especially here in 2017, suggests the foundation walls are starting to show cracks, and it now seems prudent not to treat Darvish...
