Spotlight: Jack Flaherty

Jack Flaherty (RHP, DET) enjoyed a breakout season in 2019, posting a 2.75 ERA and 231 K in 196 IP. He began 2021 in similar fashion, boasting a 2.90 ERA through 62 IP before an oblique strain sidelined him for about three months. Shoulder issues would then limit him down the stretch in 2021 and cost him most of the 2022 season. Though he was healthy enough to log 144 IP in 2023, the results were dreadful, including a 4.99 ERA. He inked a one-year, $14M contract with the Tigers in December 2023 and entered 2024 with a 345 ADP in fantasy leagues. The 28-year-old has exceeded expectations thus far, sporting a 3.13 ERA and 0.98 WHIP through 95 IP. How are the underlying skills?
