MARKET PULSE: And so it begins

With the season a little more than a week old (the two games in Japan notwithstanding), it's far to early to make judgments about skills or production. So this week, we'll focus on some players who have found some (perhaps unexpected) playing time.

Shallow Leagues

Willie Bloomquist (SS, ARI) is getting extra AB with Stephen Drew (SS, ARI) on the disabled list. He exceeded his projected playing time last year, grabbing 350 AB and stealing 20 bases with Drew's injury and the unsettled Arizona outfield. Even at that, though, he barely reached positive value in mixed leagues. With Drew progressing apace, Bloomquist's path to more playing time is clouded....
