ARSENAL REPORT: Doubling up on southpaws

In a new development for the column, we are announcing that this is a lefty-only space for the remainder of the season (joking). In all seriousness though we are doubling up on featuring two left-handed starters in two consecutive weeks, as after examining Eric Lauer (LHP, MIL) and Nestor Cortes (LHP, NYY) last week, we are looking at two young former first-round picks who are at different stages in their development. These pitchers are good reminders that even among the most talented pitching prospects there are different paths to success, as some prospects develop somewhat linearly while others take winding paths to success.
