During a 2022 season that featured a 2.93 ERA and 1.08 WHIP, Joe Musgrove (RHP, SD) had success with a slider-first approach. While he lost some SwK on his 2022 slider, which dipped from an 18.5% SwK in 2021 to a 16.1% SwK in 2022, the pitch missed enough bats to help the right-hander's 25% K%. His 2022 slider posted a 36% Whiff%, which was the highest Whiff% in his arsenal. While the slider had a 36% Ball%, his ability to generate swings outside the zone with a 36.1% O-Swing% was the second-highest O-Swing% in his 2022 arsenal.
