Early 2024 targets

Our last SP Buyers Guide column of the regular season will point you towards early 2024 targets.

Here are a bunch of starting pitchers in each league that have a good shot at improving significantly in 2024. We'll also sprinkle in some prospects who could make a positive impact in 2024.
 

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Shane Baz (RHP, TAM) will be 17 months removed from his September 2022 Tommy John surgery by next spring training. There was a ton to like in his MLB debut late in 2022, including a high volume of whiffs (13.7% SwK%). The control issues he carried early in his prospect career were remediated by a TAM-induced refinement of his delivery. He's an excellent late stash in keeper leagues.

Brayan Bello (RHP, BOS) won't end 2023 with great stats...
