STARTERS: Mid-season PQS targets

The Pure Quality Start (PQS) method is a tool to analyze the skills posted by starting pitchers in each game they pitch. As a reminder, it differs from the traditional Quality Start method because it focuses on a SP's skills instead of surface stats such as earned runs.

Using this method, starts are assigned a score based on criteria that you can find in the PQS section of our glossary.

Those that measure a PQS-4/5 are DOMinant starts, whereas outings that rate as a PQS-0/1 are DISaster starts.

Reference our pre-season PQS trends & targets column for historical DOM% and DIS% by league.
