There are many reasons for the Mets surprising start. On the surface, Dillon Gee (RHP, NYM) isn't one of them. With a 4-3 record and 4.69 ERA, he seems to be charting a similar course to last year. Look deeper, though, and good things are happening.

Huston Street (RHP, SD), who has missed the past month due to a lat strain, was activated from the disabled list, and should immediately return to the closer role. He has posted a triple-digit BPV each of the past three seasons, and was off to a strong start this year as well. Prior to suffering the injury, Street appeared in 10 games, collecting four saves, with a 0.93 ERA and 6.5 Cmd.

Whether it was an early slump or a product of the brisk weather of early Spring, it took Dayan Viciedo (OF, CWS) a while to get going. But starting around mid-May, Viciedo has not only been productive, he's been tearing the cover off the ball...
