NEWS: Angels are expected to activate SS Zach Neto this weekend for his season debut.

BHQ SPIN: Offseason shoulder surgery had put the timing of Neto’s season debut in doubt, and up until a couple of weeks ago it seemed like he might still be a ways away. But he has performed well on an extended minor-league rehab, and is poised to make his 2025 debut in Anaheim this weekend.

Tim Anderson and Kevin Newman have been manning shortstop to date, both hitting under .200. Either one is a candidate to get bumped off the roster to make room for Neto, but whichever one sticks will downshift to a backup role.
