NEWS: The Marlins are expected to activate Edward Cabrera and start him in Tuesday’s game versus Philadelphia

BHQ SPIN: Cabrera was placed on the IL September 1 with a right elbow strain, and many expected him to miss the rest of the season. Instead, he will get one, possibly two, starts before the end of the season. Before his injury, he had been in the midst of a very good season:  3.54 xERA, K-BB% of 18%, BPV 122. It’s often risky to start a pitcher coming off the IL, but Cabrera reportedly hit 97 mph with his fastball during a simulated game last week.
