Cards welcome back Contreras

NATIONAL LEAGUE

St. Louis Cardinals
NEWS: CA Willson Contreras was activated from the 10-day IL on Monday, June 24.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: The Cardinals got their best hitter back on Monday; Contreras (+10%) was hitting .280/.398/.551 with 6 HR prior to his fractured forearm. While his 211 PX is likely due for some regression, his 123 xPX indicates that his team-leading OPS should be sustainable - although he may need some time to regain his timing. CA/DH Iván Herrera (-10%) was placed on the IL late last week due to back tightness, so we’ve left Pedro Pages’ PT alone for now, as he’ll continue to serve as the primary backup to Contreras - however that PT may be in jeopardy when Herrera is able to return.
