NEWS: Chicago placed C Miguel Amaya on the 10-day IL and selected the contract of C Reese McGuire from AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: After exiting Saturday’s game due to oblique soreness, Amaya was diagnosed with an oblique strain and placed on the IL on Sunday. Amaya is expected to undergo testing on May 27 which will determine the severity of the strain. To take Amaya’s place on the active roster, Chicago promoted McGuire. After Carson Kelly was scratched due to an illness, McGuire drew the start at catcher and hit two homers in his team debut. While Chicago’s job has been a fairly even share between Kelly and Amaya this year, Kelly should have a larger share of the job with Amaya sidelined,...
