Chapman takes over the hot corner in SF

NATIONAL LEAGUE

San Francisco Giants
NEWS: San Francisco signed third baseman Matt Chapman to a three-year, $54M contract that includes two opt-outs.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: In adding their fourth free agent bat, the Giants likely finalized their offense. In his return to the Bay Area, Chapman will be the everyday third baseman. J.D. Davis and Wilmer Flores will be the players ceding the most playing time to Chapman. The former will now shift to a bench role and is a candidate to be traded while the latter will fill a short side platoon role at first base and will occasionally back up at third. The newest Giant will take home an 80% share of PT while Flores and Davis experience detractions of varying severity.
