Elbow concerns in Braves rotation

NEWS: RHP Hurston Waldrep will undergo surgery Monday to remove loose bodies in his right elbow. RHP Spencer Schwellenbach, previously placed on the IL elbow trouble, underwent surgery Wednesday to remove loose bodies.

BHQ SPIN: The Braves had hoped both Schwellenbach and Waldrep could avoid surgery, but that was not to be. Best case scenario is that both pitchers will return sometime in June, but that appears far from certain. When asked if he expects the pitchers to return this season, Atlanta manager Walt Weiss was quoted as saying, “I’m not sure. We all hope for that, but you never know how these things go.” For now, we’ve cut both Schwellenbach and Waldrep’s playing time...
