NEWS: Miami placed Pete Fairbanks on the 15-day IL with nerve irritation in his right thumb and recalled Cade Gibson from Triple-A Jacksonville.

BHQ SPIN: The Marlins are saying that they expect Fairbanks' stay on the IL will not be of long duration, but at a minimum, he will be out until mid-May. We’ve cut his saves projection from 70% to 60%. While he’s out, expect Miami to use a committee to close. Potential candidates to close include Tyler Phillips, who notched the save on Tuesday, Calvin Faucher, and Anthony Bender.
