NEWS: 1B Vinnie Pasquantino is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a broken thumb.

BHQ SPIN: Pasquantino suffered a broken thumb in Thursday’s game and, given the 6-8 week timeline to return he was given, will miss the rest of the regular season. In Pasquantino’s absence, Salvador Perez started at first base on Friday, where he is expected to be the team’s primary option down the stretch. With Perez seeing more time at first base, Freddy Fermin is expected to get the majority of starts at catcher. Besides Perez, the most likely other player to get time at first base is Nick Loftin, who Kansas City recalled on Friday as a corresponding move for Pasquantino’s IL...
