NEWS: The Pirates are expected to activate SS Konnor Griffin front the 60-day IL on Friday.

BHQ SPIN: Griffin has been on a rehab assignment for his finger injury, and should resume the everyday SS duties. Fill-in SS Jacob Gonzalez will now fight for utility IF ABs with Jared Triolo. Gonzalez is a LH hitter, so he doesn’t fit into a platoon with Brandon Lowe at 2B. He may be able to steal some 3B time from Nick Gonzales, but Nick Gonzales is hitting over .300 while Jacob has gone cold lately.
